Resolutions Wishlist !

So this is a wish-list as you can all probably guess but what's different about this is I've paired them all with a New Year's Resolution! I don't usually make a big fuss about resolutions because I lack the will power to keep them till February but I thought that maybe (just maybe) if there's some kind of reward involved I'll be motivated for longer ? Maybe ... Makes a Cool Blog Post anyway..

1) "I will be a more frequent blogger with more product reviews, street-style posts etc"
I've really loved blogging for this half year but I never really thought about how much time goes into it. With moving out for college, starting college and all that comes with that time just flew. But when I did have time there was always one thing that slowed me down again, my camera ! The time we've spent together has been nice but my (not-so-trusty) pal is going to be replaced.

Fujifilm S2980 14MP Bridge Camera
And these two are the contenders for my new camera!
Nikon D3100 14MP DSLR Camera

I am no professional when it comes to cameras, but from what I gather the main difference between these two cameras, besides the massive price difference, is that a DSLR can have it's lenses changed to suit whatever kind of photography you need it for and a Bridge camera doesn't have changeable lenses. If you are in anyway camera knowledgeable do feel free to correct my uber-common way of describing them. I am torn between the two for now, but one of these will be a winner.

2) "I will grow my lipstick collection into new extremities"
I didn't always love lipstick because when I tried it first as a 13/14 year old over-all make-up beginner , I tried the ones with glossy finishes and I must have applied far too much and in the end I just didn't find them flattering. But at 16 or so, I found matte lipsticks and it was love at first wearing. Also I did get the hang of other lipstick finishes (Thank You Youtube!) but Matte finishes were my favourite. Which brings me to one particular lipstick range that could become my favourite lipstick collection ever !
Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks
3) "I will be more grown up and lady-like"
I turned 18 last October and so a now fully recognised Adult (atleast in Europe), and not that I act like a child particularly but I'm still often confused for a 15 year old. It's a little bit upsetting but the bright side is, I'll like it when I'm older perhaps. This brings me to the following items below! Black Handbags ! A stable in every woman's life. I need one that fits my laptop, A4 pads etc so I'm stuck between these two. Both from Zara  and perfect.

And that's it for the most part, I kept it short cause maybe this way I can actually stick to it .
Again I'd like to thank everyone who has read my blog this year. Like I've said I've really loved it and seeing the pageviews, GFC followers, and bloglovin' followers growing , really puts a smile on my face. Also meeting other Irish Bloggers like Lisa, Leanne Woodfull, Mia Oliver, Debbie and Julie etc.

Feel Free to do this Post on your blog and send me a link on twitter or in the comment section below.

Happy New Year !

Lancome S/S '13 Launch Event | 26-11-2012

Last night I was lucky enough to go along to the Lancome's S/S 13' Launch in The Shelbourne Hotel. The event was exclusively for bloggers and press so I was really excited to see many of Ireland's familiar faces from the fashion industry. The event was a launch of their spring summer collection (above) created collaboratively with the face of the collection Emma Watson. One of Lancome's Senior make-up artists, Eimear told me about how Emma Watson had a lot of input into the collection so much so it really could be called her collection!

My friend and fellow blogger Eunice Abe was modelling the makeup at the event. Blog: individualitycreativitystyle.blogspot.ie So I got a little time behind the scenes too.

The event was also a launch of Lancome's brand new foundation, Lancome Teint Visionnaire Foundation. It comes in 18 different shades and comes with a matching concealer at the top of foundation bottle! The foundation is supposed to be a "treatment" foundation with skincare benefits too ! It sounds amazing to be, sadly we have to wait till February to get our hands on this almost magic sounding foundation.

Keep an eye out on the Dublin Fashion Festival Facebook page for more pictures of the event !

                                                     Thank You For Reading.

Streetstyle !

Quick Update ! I haven't been blogging as much as I've wanted but this semester is almost over and with so many events around the corner keep your eyes peeled because new exciting content is coming soon !

And in the mean time here's some Streetstyle that have been on the DublinTown tumblr ! I'll be taking my winter snaps soon, so if your in the Dublin area have your best wintry/wintery stuff on and I might spot you !

Two girls both rocking black and white outfits. In the words of Yves Saint Laurent "Fashions fade, Style is Eternal" and this style really is just that.
A bit of a contrast to the other two outfits but I always love a pop of colour ! Even though it's colder now, it's still nice to add a bit of colour into our winter wardrobes. My favourite piece was Fauve's (middle) chimono styled cardigan and her skull necklace.

As Always Thanks For Reading ! I noticed I've reached 10 followers and I'm super thankful ! I have plans for a thank you giveaway but not quite yet ;)

Street Style and DublinTown.ie

You may have noticed that recently there's a sidebar to the right that says I'm now blogging for DublinTown.ie. So I thought that I should write a little update explaining what it's all about and how it will affect my blog and what not.

So DublinTown.ie is about Dublin Town, and everything in it really, from theaters, to restaurants and fashion. They organise the Dublin Fashion Festival which is usually on for a weekend in September every year, this year being their 3rd and now I'm their Fashion blogger.

This means there will be lots of exciting new stuff on the blog like Fashion events in Dublin and Dublin streetstyle, both on my blog and the DublinTown tumblr.

In between the new stuff I will still be posting beauty hauls and empties, a movie review or something music related.

Below are some of the Pictures already on the DublinTown.ie tumblr.

I met Francesca on Grafton street. She loves dark colours in Autumn. Her favourite shops are Topshop and River Island.

Eunice Abe is my roommate and fellow blogger! I bumped into her on Grafton street too. She beleives that "fashion is fleeting but style is eternal." Her favourite places to shop are No name, Penneys and H&M.

I met Elvira at College Green. I loved her tailored style ! She loves charity vintage shops and shopping in Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 and Temple bar markets.
Lastly I met Seana, a fashion blogger @ Walking As I Dream. I was in love with her Army Jacket. She thinks Dublin fashion is unique in is own sense of style. Her favourite are Age Action on Camden Street and Om Diva on Drury Street.

Beasts of the Southern Wild | Movie Review

I was lucky enough to get to see the exclusive premiere of this movie but before I get into the details I have to talk a bit about the venue.

The venue was the Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield , and I do vaguely remember hearing about screenings being held there but I just had no idea where it was. Smithfield is still part of the city centre so anyone could easily walk but if your as lazy as I am you can always get the Luas. I thought it was a bit different to most cinemas, the atmosphere was different for sure, it felt more "grown up" to me.

The movie is centered around the life of a young girl no older than 8 called "Hush Puppy" (Quvenzhané Wallis) living with her father in what could be called a preapocalyptic world. I think that's why I liked this movie, because it more or less had the same premise of movies such as "The day after tomorrow" but rather than being a popcorn flick, the story is told in a tone that is more heartfelt. Also it was easy to be absorbed in the world, without spoiling anything, because really it was a vision of what our lives could be like in a few years.

The only faults I have with the movie is I think that hand held shaky cam was overused and just gave me a headache. I understand the director used it to help the audience feel more involved in some scenes but I just didn't like it. And finally the title doesn't make much sense to me, maybe I'm too much of a simpleton to get it and that could also be why I didn't understand a little scene near the end.

All in all, it was a great heartfelt movie that I probably would see again. So if its in a cinema near you, don't miss it!

Boohoo.com Event | Pre-Launch of Boohoo Boutique

My very first fashion event was the Boohoo.com Press Launch in Dublin two weeks ago. It was a pretty small gathering and I met so many nice people and was overall really impressed.

Now a little background to the brand. Personally I had only heard of Boohoo.com last year and that's because I'm not really the online shopping type,.(I've never shopped on Asos) Boohoo however, have been around since 2006! Boohoo is now one of Europe's fastest growing internet retailers since.
(Timeline below). Now boohoo decided to launch a new range that is said to be " an exclusive limited range of womenswear." The collection is also said to be "heavily baroque inspired" with prices ranging from 26-58. Below are Pictures of the Launch and of the Collection as worn by the model photographed.

My friend and fellow blogger Eunice pictured with 4fm radio host Suzanne Kane and her producer whose name I've forgotten. Sorry If your reading !

Also I got to meet two models from Britain and Ireland's Next top model(Kellie Forde and Lisa Madden) and 3-piece British girl group Stooshe performed.

Boohoo Have definetly come a long way since 2006. Boohoo Boutique focused their new collection on a lot of this seasons trends mainly a dark gothic edgy look. Their collection included PU, mesh, metallic highlights, rich gold brocade and so much more.

The collection is now available on the website so go check it out !

Empties #1 - Products I've Used Up !

You may and most likely have seen an empties post before. I know the first one I've ever seen was by EssieButton, and since I've seen loads, both on blogs and on youtube. And I LOVE them! I love hauls as much as the next person, but empties are more mini honest reviews, because you have to put up with the product till its all gone. So you may learn to love something at first you weren't so keen on or the opposite and absolutely loathe it.

(Some Pictures are bit shadowy because I took them at night with no extra lighting, because the lighting was really washed out during the day .. blah blah blah excuses *sigh* )
This product I had never heard of before. I found it in my local pharmacy at a really decent price, and after hearing a lot of talk that tea tree oils are great for your skin, I decided to give it a go. Its a scrub so it has those little pearls that are supposed to exfoiliate your skin, and it claims to refresh and cleanse. Unfortunately  it did absolutely nothing for me. Its not a bad product, it just didn't do any wonders. So it won't be repurchased, and I'll be on the hunt again.
From Top L-R. Starlyte Rose Garden, Starlyte Strawberry and cream, Primark Lotus Flower, Yankee Candle Strawberry Buttercream, Starlyte Mango and Peach
I'm love with candles, and this entire summer, there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't have a candle burning. These are all from different companys, but they are pretty much the same as for quality. The Yankee candle does stand out as the best though, and for that it is the most expensive and has the longest lasting quality. The primark one was the least best because they only had one scent I liked, but I've recently gone in and seen that they've added new scents and got rid of some of the old ones, so I'll try them out as they are really inexpensive. Maybe I should switch to getting the bigger jars so I won't go through them as quickly.
This is the first powder I'd ever used (not this exact one). My mum used it and so when I started wearing makeup, (not so long ago actually) I just imitated her. I liked it, I still like it but I like other powders better now. It has a pretty heavy coverage and on top of foundation it can look a bit cakey. I prefer the Mac Skin Mineralise Finish, better for wearing over foundation. It was in a recent Wishlist but i explained hy there so check it out !

The two bronzing powders above are pretty much the exact same, one is just smaller. I liked these a lot actually and will definitely repurchasing the smaller one. The downside to the big one is that its just not portable, but it lasts a really long. It's a really good bronzer through and through and reliable and will be the one I'll always go back to, till I find something better. I can't remember what price it was but it is a bit pricey as are some Isadora bits.

These were two samples from inglot, A powder (loose) and a foundation (AMC). Firstly I hate the sample packaging. How are you supposed to get the product out? Obviously its possibly, but it's just not ideal. The products themselves didn't win me over, nothing great about them so I won't be getting them. The foundation as pretty light feel, but then it didn't give much coverage. The powder too was light (feel and coverage) which I did like, because it was ideal to use as a finishing powder, so I may give it a whirl but it didn't have me raving that's all. Inglot do great eyeshadows though so I love them for that, but I'll pass on their foundation.

I've mentioned this product before in a favourites, so you already know how I feel about it. I got it as a present and didn't use it till this summer and I loved it soo much I repurchased the bigger bottle. The only downside to this is that I feel I can only use it in summer, maybe it's just a preference thing. I associate fruity scents with summer, and more musky with autumn. So I love it for summer and not anytime else.
I love smelling perfumes I haven't smelt in a while and just loving them again. I remember getting this because it was on sale and I used it up pretty quickly too. The only downside I can think of is that it's finished. I don't think its a seasonal scent, and could be worn all year round. I'm not even going to attempt describing how it smells, but I'd go into the shop if I were you and just have a lovely sniff.
I hated hated hated this foundation. I can't even put it into words how i disliked it. I tried soo hard to get along with it because it was a gift but it was truly awful. It was soo thick and completely unnatural looking. It made your face feel heavy and I hate that in a foundation. I like it when a foundation gives good coverage but still has a light feel. So Unforch , this is a big no no. Its not available in Ireland or the UK anyway, it's from Ethopia. So it saves me having to worry how I would repurchase it, that's a plus I guess.
I know the packaging is really nothing special with these, but for some reason when these were all new I didnt want to use them. Anyway my weird OCD aside, they where a really nice trio. The "Body Lotion" was the one I loved, the shower gel was ok but nothing I need. The lotion was really light but still very mosturising which I love. the scent which is apparently "pure honey" smells nothing like honey from a jar, and its a smell that grew on me , I hated it when I first tried it, but it grew on me and now I actually miss it. For the sake of having the three beside each other, I would crazily enough purchase them all just to put them beside each other.

Overall this seemed a bit negative to me,but Hey, I'm being honest and there's a few gems in there.
